Italian exploitation filmmaker Massimo Dallamano wrote the script to VIRGIN TERROR (ENIGMA ROSSO, aka RED RINGS OF FEAR) to complete his series of "schoolgirl giallos" (Italian mystery-crime films with a horror undertone). When the mutilated body of a teenage girl is found, Det. Di Salvo is called in to investigate. He learns that the girl was part of a group of friends called "the inseparables," and begins to question the surviving three members of the quartet. But when they begin to receive death threats from a mysterious figure known only as "Nemesis," Di Salvo must race to find the killer before group of friends are all murdered.
